New Music Tuesday: Brave J To Tha Hello!

So I finally downloaded the new album from Jennifer Lopez "Brave." I must admit that I expect this album to suck like her last one. What J Lo does is throw out a catchy good first single and then you buy the album that sounds nothing like her single. Ya'll remember how hot "Get Right" was then you hear "Rebirth" and it was more like a miscarriage.

J Lo released "Do It Well" going back to what she does best and that is SALK (Sing Talk). When she SALKs she sounds best. "Brave" has a retro sound with some infectious beats. Her title track is definitely hot and should have been the first song rather than the last one. "Stay Together" is a definite single and you can see a great remix out of that. Her 2nd single "Hold It Don't Drop It" has a great retro disco sound but not a good choice as a 2nd single. "Gotta Be There" and "Be Mine" suit her lack of voice very well.

The album is surprisingly good but she needs to stay away from the ballads. She loves to sing those ballads but like Janet Jackson, she does not have a voice to sing those types of songs. Jennifer is mediocre at many things, I've said this before. She is a good studio singer, decent dancer, ok actress, and in the world of all around entertainers, she's just a fly girl.

Overall, get "Brave" and get ready to dance.

My Rating: J Lo, bout time you threw down!
