Hard Candy Review

I went out at 8am and got my copy of the new Madonna CD "Hard Candy." Madonna was rumored to take an R&B and Hip Hop route on her new CD enlisting the likes of Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Pharell Williams. She released her first single "4 Minutes to Save the World" featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. The song lacked a hook but definitely had a good beat. It wasn't the best Madonna song but it is the most successful song in 8 years in both the radio and charts.

Thats what Madonna wanted to do. I was really confused as to why she enlisted the top producers because she usually hand picks them and molds them to what she wants her to sound to be. But even as successful as her previous albums have been she has lacked one thing that she desperately wants, commercial success from America and she has done it.

The CD is definitely more of a Techno, Urban, Disco feel. You can tell that this CD is geared towards American appeal. She doesn't steer away too much from her roots her sound is still pure dance! She is the queen of the dance floor and no one can't take that away. The CD shines in tracks like the hyper bass beat of "Give it 2 Me" the ever seductive "Miles Away" and a surprise cameo from Kanye in "Beat Goes On." There are many potential hits on this CD and the clubs are gonna love this CD. Madonna is always morphing into something new and even at 50 she still delivers something new and fresh.
