Cloverfield smashed the competition breaking a record at the box office for a January film. Cloverfield made 41 million at the box office setting a record for the highest January opening. 27 Dresses came in at a distance but impressive 2nd with over 22 million. The other wide open release was Mad Money with Diane Keaton, Queen Latifa and Katie Holmes.
I went to the movies this weekend on this cold ass weekend. Lord knows my ass was freezing but there I was trying to go to the movies and I saw "One Missed Call." Now I was gonna see "Cloverfield" but my roomy saw it and she said the movie caused her to almost be sick due to the movement of the camera. I have heard people have thrown up due to motion sickness. Now ya'll know I was not gonna pay 10 dollars to throw up! I would rather pay a 60 dollar bar tab and throw up afterwards!
I was not trying to see "Mad Money" and apparently neither was America. I loooove Diane Keaton and the Queen but Katie Holmes? The only reason she got that roll is cuz she's married to Tom. Ya'll know that's true.
