There was a few shockers in the Billboard 200 this week.
First Neil Diamond has obtained his firts number 1 album of his career. His new release "Home Before Dark" has topped the Billboard 200 with sales of 146,000 copies thanks to his appearence on American Idol two weeks ago. The power of Idol! Mr. Diamond must be just filled with joy considering that he began his career in the 60's and has finally acheived Number 1.
The top ten was just filled with country stars this week.
Number 2: Toby Keith with his double disc set "35 Greatest Hits" debuts with 103,000 copies
Number3: Madonna and her "Hard Candy" sold 94,000 copies
Number 4: Clay Gaiken and his second CD "On My Way Here" debuts with 93,000 far less than his last cover CD "A Thousand Different Ways" sold upwards of 210,000 and his debut was over 600,000. I guess Gaiken Mania is fading away.
Number 5: Whore Trash Mariah Carey "E=MC2" sells 87,000 copies
Number 6: Leona Lewis sells 76,000 of"Spirit"
Number 7: Gavin Degraw's self titled sophmore effort sells 66,000
Number 8: Josh Groban debuts his CD/DVD with 58,000 copies of "Awake" live
Number 9 Dierks Betley's Greatest Hits with 43,000 copies sold (yeah didn't know who this was either but I guess he is a country artist)
Number 10: Now this is a shocker too. Latin superstar and Mariah's (reason why she went crazy) ex-love Luis Miguel has scored his biggest debut ever selling 32,000 copies of "Complices" I wonder if Mimi is ok with sharing the top ten? Ya'll know she had a major melt down because of him and the opening of Glitter.
