Eva Mendez in Rehab!

TMZ and Perez are reporting that Eva Mendez has been in rehab for several weeks at the Cirque Lodge, where Lindsay Lohan attended. It is unclear what Eva is seeking help for but her publicist is stating that the "Ghost Rider' star has been working hard this past year and made a personal decision to enter rehab over her personal issue that is not critical.
Dang! I need to go to rehab too! I just think it's a good vacation.

Oprah Moment (Forgiveness Part 2)
Last night was the 2ND part of the Forgiveness seminar that I started. If you read my post last week, you know that I felt it was very emotional, very intense, and I was very scared in the first part of this seminar.
Last night was a bit different, we did partner up once but mainly we had to share the things we wrote in front of the group.
I had to write down the following things:
What I wanted from the people I want to forgive? (example: explanation, apology)
What if I don't get that?
I had to write down the positive things about the people I want to forgive. I had to recognize the good things that they brought to me at the time.
I then had to write what circumstances in their lives prevented them from giving me the things I needed at the time.
I then had to read all these things as if I did not know them and see if my thoughts shifted. They did! I read their stories and I felt sorry for them. They all had one thing in common. They had a lack of father or father figure in their life. They hated themselves and what they represented. They never searched their souls to find love within themselves therefore they were not able to give me that love.
My journey to forgiveness has begun five years ago and I have made significant progress throughout the years and going to the seminar was like the icing on the cake. The conclusion of the seminar for me is that I had to go back to my childhood and remember what I envisioned myself to be as a person and as a man. I then had to work hard to try to become the man that little shy boy saw himself to be. I had to allow my friends and my family to love me. I had to uncover my talents and appreciate them. I had to find my way back to God and let him guide me which gives me the opportunity to open my mind and heart to the possibility of loving someone else just as much as I love myself.
Now with this I have a greater sense of peace in my heart.

Kathy Re-Banned??

Yep Kathy Griffin has been re-banned from "The View", she apparently made fun of Barbara Walters too much. New York Post has this to say.
January 29, 2008 -- THERE'S a first time for everything, and for the first time in her career, Kathy Griffin was re-banned from a show. "I was supposed to be on 'The View' [today]," said Griffin, who performs her final sold-out stand-up show tonight at Madison Square Garden. "But then I get a call from [producer] Bill Geddie, and he says, 'You were too mean to Barbara [Walters] on your last special, so you can't come on.' Can you believe it? I've been banned before but never re-banned!" Griffin does a spot-on impersonation of Walters, but she didn't insult the TV legend any more than usual on her last special for Bravo.

Dr. Maya Angelou

Dr Angelou showing her love and support for Hillary Clinton. Oprah shoulda consulted with Maya on who to support. I think you was wrong on this one Oprah! Hope you and Maya are ok. This was taken from Perez:
Says Angelou:
“As a child, Hillary Clinton was taught that all God’s children are equal, so as a mother she understood that her child wasn’t safe unless all children were safe.
I know what kind of president Hillary Clinton will be because I know who she is. Hillary Clinton has always been a strong woman and a passionate protector of families. For 35 years, that’s exactly what she has been doing.
Each generation of African Americans stands on the shoulders of those who came before. Today, the challenges facing us threaten the dreams we have had for our children. We need a president with the experience and strength to meet those challenges.
I am inspired by Hillary Clinton’s commitment and courage — a daughter, a wife, a mother — my girl.”

More Paula Reviews!
The reviews just keep coming and they all say the same, she rocked!

OK...yes we did have to wait for awhile but I don't know why people were complaining on waiting.....It was feakin FREE. So, yes, we had to wait for awhile before being let in, but wow! It was worth the wait. Paula DID NOT SLUR HER WORDS! I can't believe people were saying this. She was obviously excited as she should have been. She was so thankful to all the people who were able to wait....and only a few people left......(Only about 10).NOT HALF the group. The people who left were probably only there to be on TV anyway. I think everyone will be very happy with the performance. The dancing it awesome and the new song is very catchy. Paula Abdul is back!

Amazing Performance. I can't beleive the haters on here. It's like people will make up stuff just to create drama. We were supposed to arrive at 12noon and they didn't get started with the taping until 3:30pm........what are people talking about on here with a 6 hour wait???? That never happened. It wasn't on time.....but what is ontime anymore???.....95% of the people waiting were very understanding at ate the free chips and water they gave us. I think people wish she wouldn't have did the extra rehearsals before the taping so she would fail on her comeback performance. Paula is not stupid and you would have to be stupid to not understand her wanting it to be perfect before taping after a 13 year wait.
She never had a meltdown...........Who is starting that rumor? Lies Lies Lies. She was pleasant, excited and extremely appreciative of her fans that were there to support her. She even bent down and gave a few fans kisses and hugs and signed many autographs even when the directors were trying to pull her away for more filming. They filmed 4 or 5 takes and there were no mistakes by Paula other than once her hat fell off due to the fan they set up. She continued with the performance as it nothing happened. The choreography was amazing and Paula proves she still has the moves. Her mother was there along with her boyfriend JT. Kylie, her assistant from the "Hey Paula" show was also there. I got a chance to talk with the dancers on the set and they all said amazing things about working with Paula and about the performance. Paula spoke to the crowd several times in between takes and NEVER slurred her words. She was made several jokes and made the crowd laugh.
OK........can I have some real people who will tell the truth and back me up on here........Trust me.....Paula's performance was amazing and there was NO Meltdown and Slurred speech.

Janet's New CD is Previewed!

VH1 posted a preview of Janet's new CD. It looks like Janet finally realized that no one wants her to be an R&B songstress, they want the Dance Diva! According to the review of each song Janet has been reading the blogs about her musical style and the direction she needs to head. She is 41 and it's tougher to be a popstar at that age. Its hard to get a young fan base to follow you when you're the age of their parents. Glad to know that Janet has taken that into consideration and made this album. Shows she has discipline.
Yesterday, Def Jam honcho L.A. Reid invited a group of journalists into his office to play tracks from Janet Jackson’s upcoming album Discipline (due out Feb. 26). Janet fans worried that the absence of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (her longtime producers who’ve been shaping her sound since 1986’s Control) should fear not: the combination of pillowy, multi-tracked harmonies and virtually non-stop dance tracks results in an album that out-Janets Janet. Easily her most dance-oriented album since Rhythm Nation 1814 (and possibly her most dance-oriented album ever), Discipline is the album so many fans have been waiting for.
Below are our impressions of the nine tracks Reid played:
1. “Luv” - An extended automotive metaphor (red lights/headlights imagery, the line: “He hit me with his love”) makes this like a bumper-car rink for Janet’s vocals, which bounce her constant refrain of “Luv, luv, luv, luv…” all over the place. Vocally, it’s hyper like the chorus of Chris Brown’s “With You,” but musically, it sounds like a Southern-fried sequel to Kanye West’s “Good Life.” Reid played this one twice and after the second time, there was some murmuring about it being the next single. Commercially, that would make a lot of sense.

Commercially, that would make a lot of sense.
2. “Feedback” - The single, duh. It has a house beat, but it’s the least house-y of the other 4/4 tracks. Oh yeah, Janet goes there. Also, I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to hear Janet sing about her period amongst fine wood office furniture and expensive candles. A moment to remember, for sure. Listen to “Feedback” on Rhapsody.
3. “This Can’t Be Good” - Think Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat” with a more punishing beat, and you’re halfway there. Another obvious reference point would be Michael Jackson’s “Butterflies” and/or Janet’s own “Spending Time With You” from Damita Jo. Lyrics are standard falling-in-love-too-deep fare, although the song is put together well: the thwack of the snare contrasts heavily with the layers of cooing vocals. The layers pile and pile so that by the bridge, the song is virtually dizzying. This one’s extremely well-produced, but perhaps the least exciting track we were privy to.
4. “Rock With You” - This one was rumored to be a cover of Michael Jackson’s classic and/or to feature Michael himself. It’s neither. It seems to have some melodic elements snatched from Mike’s track, although the chorus is more, “Ooh ooh ooh ooooh oooh oooh” than “I wanna rock with you.” Janet’s vocals seem a bit detached and robotic, but that’s not an insult: they’re most reminiscent of Donna Summer’s in “I Feel Love” without the operatic flair. This one is pure house music, with an electroboogie bass line borrowed from the ’80s. It’s bright enough so that it wouldn’t sound out of place on one of those Beach House compilations released by Hed Kandi.
5. “Tonight” - Speaking of bright, this one just shines. It’s another dance track — more or less housey (although the beat pattern has a slight twist keeping it from being straight four-on-the-floor for most of it). It has the filter-house thing of Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music” going on (the second verse is virtually treble-free), but where that song has a darkish vibe, this one’s up up up. Again, Janet seems detached, but that’s only during the verses: she breaks out like the sun between clouds during the chorus, belting in her high register that immediately reminded me of “Young Love.” The song only gets better as it goes, too: two killer bridges and an amazing breakdown (”Don’t leave me alone tonight / Don’t leave me tonight”) close it out. Epic and brilliant: this is by far my favorite track that we were played.
6. “The Greatest Ex” - A departure for Janet, this one’s most akin to OneRepublic’s “Apologize.” Like “Tonight,” there’s this epic sensibility, but this time it’s applied to the power-ballad template. Timbaland-esque beats skitter around Janet’s confession (this definitely seems like the most personal song on the record): “In my heart, I know you’ll always be the greatest ex ever.” I pointed out to L.A. Reid after that this is the pop smash, the Z100 crossover and he agreed. It’s not the best track, but it has tremendous potential to kill at radio. Seriously, if Janet can’t get a hit with this one, it isn’t her fault; it’s the world’s.
7. “Discipline” - The baby-making track (though in an interview conducted with Janet today, she told us about “Curtains,” which is faster but with a sexy vibe). It’s similar in theme to Velvet Rope’s “Rope Burn,” but not in sound. This is slower and sparser, like a Prince song that’s not purple, but black and blue. “I misbehaved / I touched myself even though you told me not to,” coos Janet to her “Daddy” before asking him to “take out your frustrations on me.” It’s heavy stuff, but probably not as dark as it sounds. The snare is made to sound like a whip, which is a pretty brilliant touch.
8. “Rollercoaster” - One of the most bizarre things that Janet’s ever done, it wouldn’t be surprising if this one ended up being left off the album. It’s extremely layered and tough to get your head around: the melody never seems quite right until the bridge and then after, it’s more topsy-turvy. Rodney Jerkins produced this one and though it shares virtually no musical ideas with it, it has the same woozy effect as “What About Us?” which he produced for Brandy.
9. “Let Me Know” - A Miami-bass-esque ballad that’s somewhat indistinct, but nice all the same. It sounds more like filler than anything else we were played, but it’s pleasant enough.
After L.A. played the nine tracks, he asked us if we wanted to hear anything again, and ended up playing “Luv” and “Tonight” another time before saying goodbye. As a bonus treat, he played the title cut from Mariah Carey’s That Chick as we were leaving. Mariah’s tune is a rollerskating jam not unlike Ne-Yo’s “Because of You.” It just never stops bouncing. Hearing it on the way out underscored the feeling I got from hearing Janet’s disc: now’s a really great time to be a diva.

The reviews are in for Paula's performance. Unfortunately she had to pre-tape her performance, why I don't know. But her performance was amazing! The reviews are in! She did lip sync but we all knew she would. Perez posted the reviews and I am posting them as well. I have the biggest hard on for this performance! I am sooooo stoked!

"Just got back from the Paula Super Bowl taping. First of all it took forever for them to let anyone in, I was in the 3PM group and they made us wait outside, in the rain and wind for about an hour and a half before they let us in. The 12 group was held in a holding room all day and they combined our two groups. Anyway, people were all bitching and moaning…but not ME! I couldn’t wait to see the lovely Hot Mess Paula A! Woo! So we all went into the studio and Paula did three takes. The show started out with Paula pulling a Geri Spice, being lifted into the air by about 5 young skinny men, she had a drum line play along with the band and cheerleaders being flung into the air. She had on this little black fitted tuxedo vest, elbow high black gloves and tight tight black strech pants – OHH and the ever hot Top Hat. She looking Freakin Fab, absolutely Delicious! Paula danced her little ass off – she’s everything Britney wishes she could be and more!!! Paula was so gracious to the audience, stopping several times to shake hands and chat. Paula said this was the biggest thing that has happened in her career and she wanted to thank all of us for being a part of it. She also said this felt so good that she’s thinking she may have to go back out on Tour! I think EVERYONE is going to be in SHOCK when they see her bit on the Super Bowl. Girl knows how to put on a show!"

By that time, half the audience had already left.According to one of the P.A.'s they were all waiting for paula to comeout. When she finally came out she gave us a "great" lip-syncperformance. Half the time she wasn't keeping up with vocal track. Butoverall, a hot mess!!!
P.S. When she tried to talk to the audience she was slurring her wordsand not making sense. Put it this way her assistant was not giving herwater in the bottle."

"Paula's performance was FABULOUS!!! The biotch rocked like she did 15 years ago!! First she opened with a snippet of "Forever Your Girl" and went into her new single (that is #1 on iTunes). She hit every mark-the choreography was incredible. Yes, she lip synced…we knew she would, but the performance was fantastic! I honestly believe this performance is going to be HUGE! Paula did not half ass this one bit…you could tell she was so excited to be on stage. She has the same pple working for when she was on tour in '91-'92. Not only did she rock it-she interacted with the audience and you could tell she was genuinely greatful we were there. My friends and I ran to buy her Greatest Hits CD after the performance because we were so excited!!-Joshua aka JoshDaStud03

Gay in the City (To Party or Not To Party)
Lately I have not been going out due to the fact that I have been trying to focus on putting my time and effort into a new relationship. I was invited to a birthday event that consisted of going to a bar and then to a club. I had a great time seeing my friends catching up at the bar and just swapping stories. We then hit the club to get our dance on cuz I have been itching to dance!
I got there and the music was too loud, the drinks weren't as good, and the crowd was there for one purpose. I normally love being there and enjoying the scene but the entire time I just thought that I would rather be at home with my guy! I would be much happier spending time with him at a coffee house, at home on the couch, or even at church. I kept yawning the entire night and I had no desire to dance. The music was good though and I had to dance a couple of songs but my mind was somewhere else. This was quite strange because I am such a party guy, I am the guy that loves to be out and about. But things are changing. My new fun is laughing and conversing with my friend and my new excitement is not the next club anymore, it's when I see his smile.
Don't get me wrong I will still go out and have fun with or without him. I just prefer it to be with him and at a different venue. I never thought I would say that much less write it down. So now comes the time to decided when to party and when not to party, that is the question?
